THE EFFECT OF PRESERVICE TEACHERS' INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES COMPETENCIES ON ACADEMIC SELF-EFFICACY AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

The purpose of this study was to measure the ICT competency levels and academic self-efficacy perception preservice teachers determine if those were a significant predictor their self-efficacy. For purpose, data obtained from 411 volunteer students studying in second, third, fourth grades Teacher Training Undergraduate Programs at Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Education Faculty. In total, 133 male 278 female participated study. As collection tools, Personal Information Form, Communication Technology Competencies Scale for Pre-service Teachers (ICTC-PT) developed by Tondeur et al. (2017) adapted Turkish language culture Alkan Sarıkaya (2018) as well Academic Self-Efficacy (ASES) Kandemir (2010) used. Form included information regarding department, grade, gender, GPA. reliability analyses scales carried out, multiple stepwise regression descriptive statistics address research questions. result, it determined that pre-service teachers' high level. A moderate level observed sub-dimensions ASE-CAP, ASE-AE, ASE-APL among participants. ICT-ID found be but not CSP-ICT. Although CSP-ICT more closely related general competencies, appeared skills required teaching profession. Based on results study, ASE-APL, sub-dimension scores predictors GPA, whereas ASE-AE score positive It could concluded these findings experiences activities aimed improving students' perceptions contributed positively achievement teacher training programs.
